To become a safe driver, you must develop good defensive driving habits. Your teachers at Northwest Driving School are truly Safety Specialists, and will teach you the easiest most up-to-date defensive driving techniques to make driving easy and enjoyable for students of all ages. We offer 6-hour and 10-hour driving packages. Both packages come with a certificate of completion to give to your insurance company, which could save you between 5 and 20 % off the price of your car insurance.

From the very first lesson, we will show you how to scan like a professional and recognize hazards in real traffic situations. You will also be taught the following:

• Proper Lane Change Procedures

• Smooth Starts and Stops

• Proper Mirror Usage                                   

• Proper Lane Positioning  

• Parallel Parking

• Parking on Grades

• Angle and Perpendicular Parking

• Highway Driving (only if the student is ready)

     Following Distances:

• 4 seconds at speeds under 40 MPH

• 5 seconds at speeds over 40 MPH
